Originally built as a general store and tackle shop, the lodge has been transformed into a private resort with eight well-equipped cabins, a bathhouse with saltwater pool and steam room, and on-site sporting facilities. Evenings are spent relaxing in the main lodge or around the campfire with drinks and s’mores.
Families and groups of friends can choose from large homes and cabins with king-bed suites and lofted bunkrooms. For couples, en suite cabins provide a cosy and private wilderness hideaway.
Activities
Your choice of adventures at Taylor River Lodge is as wide as the Colorado sky. You’ll find a stocked trout pond and a semi-private river just outside your cabin. Explore the surrounding woodland and mountains via rugged and scenic trails, or take a float trip on the Gunnison River. Challenge yourself at the resort’s own rock climbing wall, archery range and hatchet throwing area. And when you’re tired out from all that, soak in the saltwater baths or lay back under the stars.
Getting there
After flying to Denver you can take a 4-hour car transfer or fly on to Gunnison Regional Airport (GUC), which is 25 minutes’ drive from Taylor River Lodge.
