Zion National Park

Day 2
Zion, meaning a place of refuge or sanctuary, offers sculptured canyons and soaring cliffs located at the point where the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin and Mojave Desert meet in the state of Utah.

This morning we can arrange for a private driver guide to pick you up from your hotel to embark on a customizable guided tour in and around Zion National Park. Adventure-seekers will delight in an exhilarating hiking program coupled with an adrenaline-inducing introduction to canyoneering. Midway through the day, pause to enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch, then round out the afternoon with a dip in a secluded desert oasis.

Less active sightseers may opt to sit back relax and enjoy the views from the comfort of their luxury vehicle. After your picnic lunch, head to an authentic ghost town where you can relive the excitement of the Wild West.

If you would prefer to explore under your own steam we can arrange for an "in-car audio" to guide you from the conform of your vehicle while making suggestions on where to stop along the way.

The scenic drive will take you along towering sheer cliffs of red rock and twisting canyons cut by the Virgin River. But in amongst this stark landscape you’ll find surprising grottos of lush ferns, waterfalls and Emerald Pools.

For many, the bucket list hikes are the main draw and you’ll find many, from family friendly Riverside Walk, to the classic slot canyon adventure The Narrows to the strenuous and vertigo inducing Angels Landing.

If you would like to stay longer in Zion National Park we can extend your stay. We would recommend staying 2 to 4 nights if you would like to explore in more depth or try some of the many local activities including canyoneering, hiking, biking, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, fly fishing, rock climbing, private jeep tours, horseback riding and UTV tours.

Bryce Canyon National Park

Day 3
Drive from Zion National Park to Bryce Canyon. About 2 hours 30 minutes or 110 miles.

At Bryce Canyon National Park in Southern Utah, erosion has shaped limestone, sandstone and mudstone into thousands of other worldly spires, fins, pinnacles and mazes, known as ‘hoodoos’.

Today we can arrange for you to meet a local driver guide for a tour of Bryce Canyon National Park. Enjoy glimpses of unique "hoodoo" rock formations that are often said to evoke gothic churches, castles, animals and even people on a hike tailored to your skill level. You may elect to walk along the amphitheater rim for an interpretive of the park's unique geology, or for a more challenging route, hike down to the canyon floor to get a closer look at this otherworldly landscape. Enjoy a picnic lunch among a grove of 2000-year-old Bristlecone pine trees, then continue onwards to the best viewpoints that the Bryce Canyon has to offer.

If you would prefer to explore under your own steam we can arrange for an "in-car audio" to guide you in the conform of your vehicle. Whether you call them hoodoos, goblins or fairy chimneys, you’ll be amazed at the sheer number of these formations in Bryce Canyon National Park.  As you scan the amphitheatre suddenly you’ll start seeing shapes, faces and figures come to life in the rocks.

Each stop along the drive highlights a different view.  Will your favourite be Sunrise, Sunset or Inspiration Point?  Or maybe it’ll be at the furtherest point along the 18mile drive at Yovimpa Point, which is one of the best spots to see the Grand Staircase coloured steps on show.

Get a closer glimpse by hiking one of the many trails that descend into the canyon. Queen’s Garden and Navajo Loop are two of the most popular.

Check into your accommodations at the Stone Canyon Inn. Uniquely situated on an 80-acre plot of land that adjoins Bryce Canyon National Park, The Stone Canyon Inn has a wide variety of cottages, bungalows, and treehouse rooms.

Capitol Reef National Park

Day 4
Drive from Bryce Canyon to Moab [Arches National Park]. About 4 hours 30 minutes or 280 miles.

Today you will enjoy a long, scenic drive en-route to Moab. Traveling along Utah’s famed ST 12 highway– considered one of the most beautiful byways in the nation.

Along the route we can arrange for a guided off-road Jeep tour of the stunning Capitol Reef National Park. With your ex-park ranger guide, explore 200 million years of geologic history revealed through white sandstone domes and rocky cliffs that are said to resemble capitol buildings and coral reefs. Admire Navajo petroglyphs and dinosaur bones before stopping for a scenic picnic lunch, then make your way to one of the park's major highlights– the awe-inspiring Temple of the Sun and The Moon.

Your "in-car audio" guide continues for the entire drive that connects the 2 parks. Arrive in Moab in the late afternoon and check into your accommodation.

Glamping accommodation
Under Canvas Moab. Located on 40 acres 7 miles north of Moab, this campsite blends into its dramatic surroundings where deep canyons and towering plateaus create a raw landscape of immense power. Luxurious glamping tents offer guests the opportunity to enjoy Utah’s spectacular desert without giving up the comforts of home.

Luxury accommodation
Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa
Situated near scenic Moab, luxury meets adventure at the Sorrel River Ranch Hotel & Spa. Surrounded by the Colorado River, lush landscapes and majestic rock formations, Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa luxurious and charming suites comfortably immerse you in the larger than life desert atmosphere.

Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park

Day 5
Today, we can arrange for a private driver-guide to pick you up from your hotel for a day of exploration in the breathtaking Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Your tour begins high atop Canyonlands' Island in the Sky mesa and descends via the steep switchbacks of the Shafer Trail. Along the way, enjoy incredible views of the Colorado River and the surrounding natural beauty.

Make your way through Arches National Park to the surreal Devil's Garden for deli-style lunch. Then, embark on a backcountry 4x4 tour. The trail climbs a steep but short rock wall, cuts across a valley and meanders through sandstone fins and dunes. En route, pass famed geologic formations and naturally-formed arches such as the Marching Men, Tower Arch, and the Eye of the Whale. Exit the park via an old cowboy trail and stop to see dinosaur tracks on your way back to Moab! Your driver will transfer you to back to your hotel to spend the evening at leisure.

If you would prefer to explore under your own steam we can arrange for an "in-car audio" to guide you from the conform of your vehicle making suggestions on where to stop along the way. With 2 parks to visit and a long list of things to do, you’ll appreciate the recommendations for how to prioritise your time when exploring Arches & Canyonlands National Parks.

Arches National Park alone has over 2,000 arches throughout the park.  Your audio guide lead you to the most popular ones like Delicate Arch, Double Arch and Landscape Arch. And others such as Skyline Arch and Devils Garden area if you have more time.

Your audio guide will rehash a quick geology lesson so you understand and appreciate the multiple geological forces at work required to create these amazing features.  But the tour is not all about rocks, there are stories about some unique characters who were drawn here and more about the delicate ecosystem that sustains a surprising amount of diversity.

The contrast in scenery between Arches to Canyonlands couldn’t be more dramatic.  As we drive along the Grand View Point Road in the Island in the Sky District, there are a number of viewpoints that peer down into canyons eroded by the Colorado and Green Rivers. Plan to arrive early with coffee if you want to capture the Mesa Arch sunrise image with other keen photographers, or enjoy a late sundowner.

Float past Dead Horse Point as you delight in unrivaled views of some of the most photographed scenery in the world, then break for a short hike to see Indian rock art and ruins. At the end of the tour, your driver/guide will return you to your hotel where you can enjoy lunch and your final afternoon in Moab at leisure.

Overnight at Under Canvas Moab or Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa.

If you would like to stay longer in Moab we can extend your stay. We would recommend staying 2 to 4 nights if you would like to explore in more depth or try some of the many local activities including ziplining, hiking, hummer Safaris, whitewater rafting & canyoneering.
